Dump Truck Smashes Through Smith Haven Mall Macy's, ATM Stolen

Two men reportedly plowed a dump truck through a front door at the Smith Haven Mall Macy’s early Tuesday and then fled with a stolen ATM.

At least one of the men doesn’t seem to have made it very far. News 12 video shows a man in handcuffs with the dump truck nearby.

The brazen theft occurred around 2:30 a.m., police said. Aviation and a K-9 unit responded to search for the suspects, police said.

Police confirmed Tuesday night that one person is in custody, but they have not released his identity. The stolen ATM was recovered.
