Levittown Peer Buddies Take Prize at Tree Festival

The Wisdom Lane Middle School Peer Buddies club designed and decorated a tree that was on display at the Long Island Festival of Trees during Thanksgiving weekend at the Cradle of Aviation Museum.

The tree was offered for sale and proceeds went to United Cerebral Palsy of Nassau. Wisdom’s “Season of Sparkle” tree was also judged as the third-place winner in handcrafted trees. Students in the IDC (special needs) program went to the museum to decorate the tree with all of the ornaments, and art teacher Carla Herbert and teacher aide Pat DeGiso were instrumental in the success of this project.
