Fire Breaks Out in Southside Hospital Elevator Shaft
No injuries reported in fire Monday night.

Multiple fire departments responded to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore Monday night after a fire broke out in an elevator shaft, authorities said.
The fire started around 7 p.m. The Bay Shore, West Islip, Islip and East Islip fire departments worked together to extinguish the blaze, which was placed under control around 8:20 p.m.
No injuries were reported. No word on what caused the fire or the extent of damage to the hospital.Â
