Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Smithtown Crash
The crash occurred on Wednesday evening.
SMITHTOWN, NY - A motorcyclist was seriously injured after crashing into a car in Smithtown on Wednesday evening, according to Suffolk Police.
Michael Lacorte, 29, of Farmingville, was riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle eastbound in the right-hand lane of Nesconset Highway, west of Terry Road, when he struck the rear of a 2015 Subaru traveling eastbound at about 5:40 p.m.
The Subaru was attempting to change lanes from the center to the right-hand lane when the crash occurred.

Lacorte was transported via Smithtown Rescue to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was being treated for multiple serious injuries.
The driver of the Subaru, 30-year-old Caitlin OReilly, of Farmingville, was transported via Smithtown Rescue to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown where she was being treated for minor injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
