Police: Mt. Sinai Teen Killed After Speeding Lamborghini Crashes
Samuel Shepard dies in crash early Friday morning, police say.

An 18-year-old from Mount Sinai was killed early Friday morning after the 2010 Lamborghini he was driving crashed into a guardrail, police said.
According to police, Samuel Shepard was driving the Lamborghini north on County Road 83 when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the guardrail near Route 25A in Mount Sinai at 2:25 a.m.

Shepard was transported by members of the Miller Place Fire Department to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The passenger in the car, Michael Power, 49, of Port Jefferson Station, was also transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Following a preliminary investigation, detectives have determined that excessive speed was an apparent factor in the crash, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
