The Smithtown High School West Athletes Helping Athletes program, under the direction of adviser coach Carie Bodo, recently collected 381 pounds of food items for Long Island Cares.
Athletes Helping Athletes president Marissa Funke and co-vice presidents Amanda Cohen and Emily Hickey delivered the food to WALK FM’s annual food drive, held at King Kullen in Commack on Nov. 20. Marissa, Emily and Amanda are pictured above (from left) with WALK on-air personality Parker. HSW AHA held a dodgeball tournament in which every participant donated two cans of food to the effort.
Sponsored by the Smithtown Booster Club, the Athletes Helping Athletes program is run at both Smithtown High School West and East.
