Smithtown East Track Stars Soar at States

Congratulations to Smithtown High School East winter track stars Dan Claxton and Jackie Gallery for their impressive showings at the New York State Championships held at Cornell University.

Dan, the HSE record-holder for the high jump, placed second in the state with a leap of 6’ 8.” Jackie, a sophomore, placed sixth in the state for the 3000m run with a time of 10:10.08, improving upon her previous school record and qualifying run. Kathleen Borbet and Brian Willman (asst.) coach Dan while Greg Schepanski and Helen Flynn (asst.) coach Jackie.
