7 Busted At Bridgehampton DWI Checkpoint Saturday Night: Police

The checkpoint was set up on Main Street Saturday night; seven people were nabbed in 90 minutes for driving drunk, police said.

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — Seven drunk drivers were busted during a Bridgehampton DWI checkpoint Saturday night, police said.

Southampton Town Police, assisted by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, conducted

targeted DWI enforcement, with roving patrols utilized from 8 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.; a checkpoint was then set up from 10:30 p.m. until midnight on Main Street in Bridgehampton.

Approximately 210 vehicles were screened for impaired/intoxicated drivers, police said. During the 90 minutes the checkpoint was set up, seven people were arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

Bruce Holly, 54, of New York City and Southampton

Brian Kelly, 40, of Holtsville

Sean B. Manning, 31, of New York City

Edith Rogers, 45, of Shirley

Hayley A. Barnhill, 23, of Nashville, TN

Sergio Suculanda, 55, of Southampton

All were arrested and charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, police said..

Suculanda was additionally charged with unlicensed operation, a violation, second degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, police said.

All were held for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
