Bridgehampton Fire Department Hosts Open House Saturday

This year, Fire Prevention Week's campaign is "Don't Wait — Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years"

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY —The Bridgehampton Fire Department will host an Open House to mark National Fire Prevention Week.

The event will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the firehouse at 64 School Street.

This year, Fire Prevention Week’s campaign is “Don’t Wait — Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years,” to educate the public about the basics of smoke alarm safety, according to a release.

Firefighters will demonstrate how to test and operate smoke detectors; additional demonstrations will include a kitchen/grill fire extinguishment, testing of thermal imaging cameras, fire extinguishers and other gear. Emergency medical service providers will offer free blood pressure readings. Fire trucks and ambulances will also be out on display for all to see.

Hamburgers and hotdogs will be served at noon.
