Dick Cavett's Wife Injured In Montauk Crash: Police

Dick Cavett's wife was taken to Southampton Hospital for treatment of lacerations and abrasions to her face, police said.

MONTAUK, NY — The wife of Emmy award winning talk show host Dick Cavett was injured in a car accident in Montauk recently, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police Chief Michael Sarlo, Martha Rogers, 64, was injured in the October 19 accident, which took place at 4:36 p.m. on Route 27 near Beech St. in Montauk.

A 2000 Ford pickup driven by Sean Connor Turner 19, of Manhattan had pulled to the eastbound shoulder of the roadway as Turner attempted to make a U turn and collided with the 2014 Toyota Highlander, driven by Yi Wang, 53, of Great Neck, in which Cavett, 79, and Rogers were passengers, police said.

The Toyota went off the road and hit a tree on the south shoulder, police said.

Rogers was transported to Southampton Hospital by Montauk Fire Department Ambulance for lacerations and abrasions to her face and head, police said.

There were no reported injuries to the others involved, including Turner's passenger Bailey Sullivan, Sarlo said.
