Drunk Driver Caught Speeding, Almost Crashing Head-On Into Cop Car: Police
BREAKING: The driver reached a speed of 90 miles an hour, police said.

A drunk driver speeding around 80 miles an hour lost control and almost crashed head-on into a police car, authorities said.
Andrew S. Doran, 26, was arrested on Nov. 3 at 3:02 a.m.on Route 114 near Plank Road in East Hampton when he was seen speeding north in a 2011 Mazda around a curve, losing control, moving into the officer's southbound lane of travel and causing the police officer to veer off the roadway to avoid a head-on collision, police said.
Doran continued to gain speed while heading north on Route 114, reaching almost 90 miles an hour, and failed to signal an abrupt righthand turn onto Hilltop Lane and a left turn into the driveway of an unoccupied residence, police said.

The police officer was able to stop Doran in the driveway; upon investigation he was found to have the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, slurred speech, bloodshot, glassy eyes, and was unsteady on his feet when exiting the vehicle, police said.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, and aggravated DWI: per se, BAC .18 of 1 percent or more alcohol in blood, no priors, a misdemeanor, and released on his own recognizance, police said.
