Drunk Driver Involved in 2-Car Smackup: Police
The man was charged with felony DWI and also had no interlock device, police said.

SPEONK, NY — A Shirley man drove drunk and crashed his car in Speonk, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, Luis A. Diaz, 48, was arrested Wednesday at 10:51 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Speonk after he was involved in a crash and investigation revealed he was unlicensed and driving while intoxicated.
He was charged with aggravated DWI, a felony, first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, circumvent an interlock device, a misdemeanor, and open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, a traffic infraction, police said.

There were no injuries and the drivers of the two vehicles were the only occupants, police said.
Diaz was transported to police headquarters for processing, and held for morning arraignment, police said.
