Drunk Driver Found Parked on Side of Highway: Police

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Shirley man was arrested after he was caught, intoxicated, in his car on the side of the highway, police said.

According to New York State Police, Jose Wilfredo Amador Granados, 32, was arrested on Saturday after a welfare check of his vehicle, which was parked on the shoulder of the westbound Sunrise Highway between exits 62 and 63 in Southampton, police said.

Investigation and standardized tests revealed he was intoxicated; he was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said. He is due back at Southampton Town Justice Court on January 25, police said.
