Gunpoint Robbery At Southampton Gas Station, Search On For Thief: Police

BREAKING: The man robbed the Southampton gas station last month, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The search is on for a man who held up a Southampton gas station at gunpoint in July, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and detectives from the Southampton Town Police Department are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man, who entered Shell Mart, located at 1630 County Road 39, at approximately 11:40 p.m. on July 22, pointed a gun at an employee, and demanded cash, police said.

The man was described as black with a thin build; he was wearing a long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, and had a black and white bandana partially covering his face, police said.

He fled the scene on foot and headed east on County Road 39, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
