Hero Southampton Cop Honored For Crackdown On Drunk Drivers

Mothers Against Drunk Driving honored a local Southampton police officer recently for his tireless efforts.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Southampton Town police officer was honored for his efforts in the crackdown against drunk and drugged drivers.

Southampton Town Police Officer Nicholas Badagliacca was honored at the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Awards Ceremony in Woodbury on April 6.

Officer Badagliacca was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving "for his outstanding achievement" in drunk and drugged driving enforcement, a release said.

"Officer Badagliacca has been with the Southampton Town Police Department since 2003 and has been a vital asset to the patrol division. He has consistently shown his dedication in deterring impaired drivers from the roadways of Southampton Town," the release said.

In addition to Officer Badagliacca being recognized, Southampton Town Police Department was also honored with the Law Enforcement Agency Award, which highlights the department's efforts as a whole in deterring drunk driving.
