Independence Party, Working Families Primary Election Results

The elections to nominate candidates for Southampton Town Justice and Town Councilman were held on Thursday.

Voters elected the Independence Party primary candidate for Southampton Town Justice and Town Councilman as well as the Working Families primary candidate for Town Justice during the election on Thursday.

Republican candidate Gary J. Weber received the Independence Party ballot with 106 votes, beating out Democrat Adam B. Grossman, with 89 votes, according to the Suffolk County Board of Elections.

Both candidates tied in the Working Families election with two votes each.

Democrats Julie R. Lofstad and John V. Bouvier beat out Republican Councilwoman Christine Scalera for the Town Councilman nomination.

Lofstad received 132 votes, Bouvier received 120 votes and Scalera received 114 votes, according to the Board.
