UPDATE: Police Identify Man Killed After RV Crashed, Burst Into Flames on Sunrise Highway Near Hampton Bays
BREAKING: The fatal accident took place Sunday afternoon when a tire malfunctioned, New York State Police said.

Update: 9:55 p.m.: Police have identified the man killed in a crash on Sunrise Highway Sunday as Richard Santos, 66, of Center Moriches.
The accident took place at 4:43 p.m. when Santos, who was traveling westbound in a 2001 Holm RV on Sunrise Highway just west of Exit 65, lost control of the RV due to an apparent tire malfunction, New York State Police said.
Santos' RV veered off the roadway and continued onto the right shoulder where he struck a tree, causing the RV to become engulfed in flames, police said.

Santos was pronounced dead at the scene.

Original story: At least one person was killed in an accident on Sunrise Highway near Hampton Bays Sunday, according to New York State Troopers at the L barracks in Riverside.
The accident involved a camper on fire; New York State Police, along with the Southampton Fire Department, Hampton Bays Fire Department, and Quogue Fire Departments responded to the scene, according to an unconfirmed scanner report. The roadway was closed as EMTs and police responded to the scene.
