Local Business Owner Teaches Students About John Steinbeck
Pierson High School students got a visit from a local business owner who gave a speech about Steinbeck.

Senior English students at Pierson High School learned first-hand about the life of John Steinbeck from a local business owner.
After the Sag Harbor students read Steinbeck’s novel, Cannery Row, their teacher Maria Archer invited Nada Berry, owner of the Wharf Shop and friend and neighbor to Steinbeck, to speak to students about Steinbeck.

During her speech, she told the students about Steinbeck’s great love and appreciation of Sag Harbor and how the community served as a genesis for some of his writing.
