Man Charged With Criminal Possession of Marijuana: Police

The man was arrested Saturday, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Southold man is facing a felony charge after being charged with criminal possession of marijuana, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, David Torrento, 21, was arrested on Saturday at 7:13 p.m. on County Road 105 in Flanders after being stopped for a traffic infraction.

Subsequent investigation revealed he possessed marijuana and that his driver's license was suspended, police said. He was charged with third degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, police said.

He was arrested at the scene, transported to police headquarters for processing and released on an appearance ticket, police said.
