OLA Latino Film Festival Screening: Pescador
The Organización Latino-Americana of Eastern Long Island presents the 11th annual OLA Latino Film Festival at the Parrish Art Museum.

This dynamic weekend showcase features acclaimed and award-winning recent Latino cinema for a broad audience. Screenings will take place in the Lichtenstein Theater. In addition to the first screening, crowd favorite Mambo Loco will enliven the festival launch at 7 pm with their exuberant sound that blends classic Afro-Cuban and Puerto Rican music with “old school” Latin and Latin Jazz.
Pescador tells the story of Blaquito, a thirty year-old man who lives with his mother in a small Ecuadorian fishing village where he has long felt like a “persona non grata”. When he discovers a box filled with bricks of cocaine that has washed up on the beach, Blanquito is presented with the opportunity to fulfill his dream of starting a new life away from the village in Guayaquil, enabled by the sale of the cocaine for top prices. He meets and develops a romantic interest in a woman named Lorna, who joins him on what becomes a dramatic and dangerous adventure. View discretion is advised.
