• Search On For Women Who Stole $10K In Camera Equipment From Event At Hamptons Hotel: Police (patch.com) — Police are asking Southampton residents for help identifying two women who allegedly stole a $10,000 Sony camera and ZEISS lens from a private event at the Southampton Inn on Hill Street in August. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Southampton Village detectives are offering a cash reward and are urging anyone with information to submit anonymous tips by phone, app, or online.
   

• Guilty Plea After Crash Killed Beloved Hampton Bays Man, Known For Can-Collecting In Community: DA (patch.com) — A Southampton man has pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a 2024 Hampton Bays crash that killed beloved can-collector Angel Asitimbay, after investigators traced debris and GPS data to his truck and home. The case, built by Southampton Town police and county prosecutors, has stirred deep grief in nearby Hampton Bays, where residents are remembering Asitimbay's years of quiet service collecting cans for his family.
   

• Southampton Public Safety Foundation Announces New Projects (danspapers.com) — New safety cameras are being installed around Lake Agawam and Agawam Park, along with specialized gear for Southampton Village Police's new K-9 vehicle, thanks to the Southampton Public Safety Foundation. At the foundation's "Southampton Together" gathering, local residents, police, and village leaders celebrated the group's first anniversary and highlighted how community donations are funding these security upgrades.
