Police: Bridgehampton Man Crashes Truck Into Utility Pole, Causes Small Fire
The man fled the scene and was later arrested at his home, according to police.

A Bridgehampton man was arrested after crashing his truck into a utility pole, knocking it to the ground, causing a small electrical fire and fleeing the scene on Sunday night, according to Southampton Town Police.
Police received several 911 calls in reference to a pickup truck striking a utility pole on the Sag Harbor/Bridgehampton Turnpike shortly after 6:30 p.m. Witnesses reported the driver fled the area on foot, according to police.
The accident caused the closure of the roadway for approximately three hours while utility workers repaired the damaged pole, according to police. The Sag Harbor Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Responding officers investigated the accident and later located and arrested the driver, Rafael M. Horcasitas, 53, at his home in Bridgehampton, police said.
Horcasitas was found to have no driver’s license and a suspended status. He also did not have an ignition interlock device installed in the vehicle as required by court order, according to police.

He was subsequently charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, circumventing an interlock device, unlicensed operation, leaving the scene of an accident and violating conditions of his license, police said.
