Police: Southampton Liquor Store Sold Alcohol to Minor

Two men were arrested for serving alcohol to an undercover operative.

Two store clerks were arrested for selling alcohol to minors during an underage drinker enforcement operation in the Town of Southampton on Sunday, according to State Police.

During the operation two retail establishments were cited for selling alcoholic beverages to an undercover State Police operative, police said.

Peter J. Postel, 48, of Hampton Bays, a clerk at Peconic Beverage, Inc. in Southampton and Muhammad Ishaq, 43, of East Patchogue, a clerk at 7-Eleven in Hampton Bays were both arrested and charged with second degree unlawful dealing with a child and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage, according to police.

Both were issued appearance tickets returnable to Southampton Town Court at a later date.
