Public's Help Sought As Search Continues for Gunman Wanted for Triple Shooting In Southampton

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY-Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Southampton Village Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the people involved in a triple shooting in Southampton last month.

According to Suffolk County Police, on January 25 at 5:56 p.m., a man exited a white 2011 Toyota Camry, fired a shotgun into a group of people, striking three men on Hillcrest Avenue. The shooter got back into the car, which was occupied by several people, and the vehicle fled the scene.

The victims were treated at Southampton Hospital; one man sustained critical injuries, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

According to Southampton Village Police, the shooting took place at 5:56 p.m.; police received multiple calls of shots being fired at the scene.

When police arrived, they found three men injured after having been struck by several ”blasts” fired from a shotgun that was discharged from a vehicle into a crowd of people standing in the roadway, police said.

Police did not identify any of the victims.

Members of the New York State Police and their reconstruction team, as well as members of the Southampton Town Police Department are assisting in the ongoing investigation, police said.
