Riverside Man Found With Heroin, Cash: Police

BREAKING: The man was arrested Friday after police executed a search warrant at his Riverside home, police said.

RIVERSIDE, NY — A Riverside man was arrested Friday after he was found with heroin, cash, and drug paraphernalia at his home in the early morning hours, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, on Friday at 6 a.m., members of the East End Drug Task Force, assisted by the Southampton Town Police Department and the Suffolk County Sheriffs Office K-9 unit executed a search warrant at a residence located at 346-48 Flanders Road in Riverside.

The search warrant was in response to community complaints and the result of an ongoing narcotics investigations by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office’s East End Drug Task Force regarding drug sales in the Riverside area, police said.

Anthony Blanco, 48, who lives in the home, was arrested and charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and second degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, police said.

The East End Drug Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional drug enforcement unit funded by Spota's office.

The task force includes detectives, police officers and law enforcement personnel from the New York
State Police, Suffolk County Police Department, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, Suffolk County Department of Probation, Southampton Town Police Department, Riverhead Police Department, East Hampton Town Police Department, Southampton Village Police Department, Southold Police Department, Department of Homeland Security and Suffolk County District Attorney investigators.
