Sag Harbor Health Aide Stole $50,000 Worth Of Jewelry From Client: Police

BREAKING: The jewelry was stolen from the Bridgehampton client of a Sag Harbor health aide, police said.

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — A Sag Harbor health aide stole $50,000 worth of jewelry from her Bridgehampton client, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, a Bridgehampton woman reported $50,000 worth of jewelry stolen on Feb. 16.

Within two weeks, detectives located a portion of the victim’s jewelry and arrested the aide, police said.

Marta Berisha, 41, of Sag Harbor was arrested Monday and charged with third degree grand larceny, a felony, and third degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, police said.

Berisha was arraigned in Southampton Town Justice Court Tuesday and released on $1,000 bail, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests in connection to the case are expected, police said.
