Sag Harbor Scholar-Athletes Honored
Six Pierson High School athletic teams were designated as scholar-athlete teams.

The State of New York State Public High School Athletic Association has recently designated six Pierson High School athletic teams as scholar-athlete teams.
The Sag Harbor teams noted for their academics were the girls field hockey team, the girls cross-country team, the boys golf team, the boys soccer team, the girls volleyball team and the girls soccer team.

To earn the designation teams were required to achieve a 90 percent GPA team average during their season.
“Pierson High School and the Sag Harbor community are very proud of the efforts of all the student athletes as they strive for excellence on the field, court and the golf course and in their academic pursuits,” said Donnelly McGovern, the director of athletics, health, wellness, personnel and supervisor of Physical Education.
