Search On for 2 Women Who May Have Stolen Car in Remsenburg: Police

BREAKING: The car was stolen overnight on August 1 from a Remsenburg home, police said.

REMSENBURG, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and detectives from the Southampton Town Police Department are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate two women possibly wanted for grand larceny who may be involved in stealing a vehicle in Remsenburg last month, police said.

On August 1, during the overnight hours, the Southampton Town Police Department received a report of a stolen 2005 red four-door Dodge Dakota that occurred in the Remsenburg area, police said.

The vehicle was later recovered at Smith Point Beach in Shirley, police said.

Police would like to question the two women in the photos shown; they are described as black females in their twenties, authorities said.

Anyone with information in reference to the investigation and/or information leading to the identification of the females shown is encouraged to call the Southampton Town Police Department at 631-728-5000 or Crime Stoppers.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
