Search On For Car Battery Thief: Police

The batteries were stolen from a Southampton repair shop, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The search is on for a car battery thief in Southampton, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and detectives from the Southampton Town Police Department are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person or people who stole car batteries from a repair shop in Southampton in March, police said.

Two car batteries were stolen from 27 Auto Circle, located at 1535 County Road 39, on March 6 between 3 a.m. and 3:50 a.m., police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
