South Fork Cancellations, School Closures Due To Snow

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — With a major storm expected to hit the area Tuesday, residents, schools and businesses are battening down the hatches.

Towns, Villages

- East Hampton: "In anticipation of inclement winter weather, the Town of East Hampton offices and recycling centers will be closed Tuesday, March 14. All public meetings, including the town board work session and the zoning board of appeals meeting, are canceled. The town board’s work session agenda items will be discussed, instead, at the March 21 work session. The public is advised to stay off the roads during the storm," a release from Supervisor Larry Cantwell said
- Southampton Town Hall and offices will be closed; Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman declared a snow emergency.

- Sag Harbor Mayor Sandra Schroeder has declared a snow emergency effective at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Parking is prohibited on all village streets. Village offices will be closed.
