Southampton Hospital Appoints New Vice President of Imaging and Cancer Services

Congratulations to Kevin Unruh!

Southampton Hospital recently announced that Kevin Unruh has been appointed to Vice President of Imaging and Cancer Services.

As the Director of the Hospital’s Radiology Department, he has been instrumental in the expansion of the Hospital’s license to include radiology services at the Hampton Bays Atrium.

Already accountable for the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center, East Hampton Radiology, and Hampton Bays Imaging, Unruh will assume additional responsibility for planning and leading the Hospital’s cancer services.

The services will include a new state-of-the-art PET/CT scanner at the main hospital campus and the development of the hospital’s plans for an off-site radiation oncology service in concert with Dr. Samuel Ryu, Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stony Brook University Hospital and Deputy Director, Clinical Affairs, Stony Brook University Cancer Center; Ernest Conforti, Associate Executive Director of Stony Brook Medicine’s Cancer Services; and Laura Borghardt, Director for the Medical Dosimetry program for the Health Science Major in the School of Health Technology and Management of Stony Brook Medicine.

Unruh is knowledgeable regarding the technical and clinical aspects of radiology, health informatics, and is experienced in coordinating vendor relationships in a highly technical area. I
