Southampton Town Police Set to Launch Citizens' Academy

Residents can learn firsthand what's it's like to spend the day in a police officer's shoes, keeping the community safe.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — If you've ever wondered what it would be like to serve as a police officer, working to keep residents safe every day all year round, you've now got the chance to learn firsthand.

The Southampton Town Police Department is holding a Citizens Academy beginning March 1, police said.

The Academy will run for twelve weeks, one night per week, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Seats are limited to Southampton Town residents first; however, consideration for non-town residents will be made pending availability of seating, police said.

A short application will be emailed or mailed to you. Completed applications will be accepted up until January 27.
