Southampton Town Standing Up Against Bias

A community event planned to fight back against bias is scheduled for Monday at Southampton Town Hall.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Southampton Town is fighting back against bias and standing strong for equality.

The Southampton Town Anti-Bias Task Force committee is slated to host a community forum, “Standing Up to Bias” on Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Southampton Town Hall auditorium, located at 116 Hampton Road in Southampton.

Residents are invited to "come and be a part of the discussion, brainstorm with your neighbors and friends on how to bring about social justice for all citizens in our community."

Guest facilitators will include Irma Solis, Suffolk Chapter Director of the New York Civil Liberties Union and Danielle Asher, director, Parent Leadership Initiative Long Island.

In addition, the Southampton Youth Bureau will perform short plays and skits to educate the community on how to stand up to bias.
