Southampton Town Warns Residents to Watch Out For Deer
This time of year there will an increase in deer activity near and on local roads.

The Southampton Town Deer Protection and Management Advisory Committee send a warning to local residents to be on the local for deer in the area.
The committee, consisting of nine members, was created in order to find a unified approach to sustaining deer populations while balancing human needs.
This time of year there is an increase in deer activity near and on local roads due to mating and hunting season.

To help prevent a collision with a deer, the committee provides the following tips:
- Slow Down – speed increases the severity of a collision
- Be Aware – deer are most active during dawn and dusk
- Be Vigilant – if you see one deer expect to see several more
