State Police Crack Down On Businesses for Selling Booze to Underage Drinkers
The undercover drinker enforcement operation took place on Tuesday, police said.

A number of local businesses were netted Tuesday in a crackdown on businesses selling alcohol to underage drinkers, police said.
The New York State Police Barracks in Riverside conducted an underage drinker enforcement operation; during the operation, three retail establishments were cited for selling alcoholic beverages to an undercover state police operative, authorities said.
Arrested and charged with unlawful dealing with a child in the second degree and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage were:

- A Flanders woman, 19, a clerk at Garden Deli on Flanders Road in Riverside.
- A man, 49, of Flanders, a clerk at 7-11 on Flanders Road in Riverside.
- A man, 54, of Bellerose, a clerk at Thrifty Beverage on Lake Ave in Riverhead.
The defendants were issued appearance tickets returnable to Suffolk County First District Court at a later date, police said.
