Thanksgiving Came Early for Underprivileged at Church of the Holy Innocents in Midtown Manhattan
Thanksgiving came early for members, friends and family at Midtown Manhattan church.

Thanksgiving came early for some New York City residents struggling to make ends meet. The Church of the Holy Innocents at 128 West 37th Street in Midtown Manhattan hosted an early Thanksgiving dinner from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 21 at the church’s Isiah Hall for congregation members and their friends and family. Approximately 200 people attended.
In New York City, one of the richest and most expensive cities in the world, thousands of working poor struggle day to day to feed their families, pay rent and other bills and save a little for the future. As the holidays approach, companies and organizations look to give back throughout the city to help alleviate these needs and provide some fun and hope. And every bit counts.
The church’s free pre-Thanksgiving dinner, sponsored this year by eVestment, is an annual event. This year’s meal included all the traditional Thanksgiving fixings, including turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, gravy and a variety of deserts.
