Unlicensed Southampton Driver Caught With Hashish, Pot on County Road 39: Police

The man was stopped for a traffic violation, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY- A Southampton man was cuffed after he was stopped on County Road 39A and found to be in possession of hashish and marijuana, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, the man, 25, was arrested on January 26 at 4:15 p.m. for a traffic infraction.

Upon investigation, the odor of marijuana was detected emanating from the vehicle and a quantity of marijuana was recovered, police said. Hashish was also located, and the driver was found to have a suspended license, police said.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, both misdemeanors, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.

He was processed and released on an appearance ticket for a future court date, police said.
