Accused Heroin Dealer in Mahopac: Putnam Sheriff

She is the second woman arrested for dealing heroin in the region in the past two weeks.

A Carmel woman faces felony charges following an investigation into heroin sales in the area.

It’s the second arrest of a female heroin dealer in the past two weeks in the region. A Yorktown Heights woman was arrested Feb. 2 with 563 glassine bags of heroin.

According to the Putnam Sheriff’s Department: in September of 2015, an investigator with the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) developed information that a woman was selling heroin around Mahopac. The investigator was able to arrange for her to sell him heroin on several occasions within the town.

On February 8, 2016, Lindsey Schupp, 23, of Ann Road, was arrested and charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a felony; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a felony; and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a misdemeanor.

Schupp was arraigned before the Honorable Thomas Jacobellis of the Town of Carmel Justice Court and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail pending a future court appearance.

If found guilty of the felony charges, the defendant could face up to 25 years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $30,000.
