Body Of Missing CT Swimmer Found In Lake Carmel
The lake and beaches had been closed during the search.

LAKE CARMEL, NY — The body of a missing swimmer was found in Lake Carmel. The Lake Carmel Fire Department posted on Facebook the body was recovered early Monday morning.
The lake and the beaches, which were closed Saturday and Sunday during the search, have reopened.
The 54-year-old Connecticut man was found floating in the middle of the lake around 5:30 a.m., the Journal News reported. He had been missing since Saturday.

His name has not been released, and an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
The Lake Carmel Fire Department said the following agencies helped during the search: Town of Kent Police Department, Putnam County Sheriff's Department marine and drone units, New York State Police, Carmel Fire Department, Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department dive team and Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department dive team.
