Brewster Woman Accused Of Crack Possession
She was a passenger in a car stopped by a Putnam Sheriff's Deputy on Saturday.
BREWSTER, NY — A Brewster woman was accused of drug possession after a traffic stop Saturday. Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrest of Katherine H. Shanahan for possession of crack cocaine.
Police said Deputy Thomas Curran stopped a 2002 Oldsmobile after he saw it commit a traffic violation on Danbury Road in Southeast at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 2. During his roadside interview, Deputy Curran observed several pieces of drug paraphernalia on the floor of the vehicle. One of the passengers possessed suspected crack cocaine, police alleged.
The driver of the vehicle was issued several traffic summonses and released.

Shanahan, 51, was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7 th degree, a misdemeanor.
She was released on her own recognizance pending a future court date Southeast town court.
