The Cultural Arts Coalition invites the community to a special Mother’s Day weekend edition of its monthly Community Drum Circle with Joshua 2.
This gathering will offer a heartfelt space to honor not only mothers, but the powerful feminine energy that lives within all of us—the qualities of intuition, compassion, creativity, and connection that nurture both individual and collective wellbeing. Through rhythm and shared presence, participants are invited to celebrate these energies while acknowledging and honoring the mothers, caregivers, and ancestral lineages that shape our lives.
Drum circles are rooted in a long tradition of communal music-making that fosters unity, expression, and belonging. Guided by Joshua 2, this inclusive, all-levels experience invites participants to set intentions, connect through rhythm, and experience the grounding and uplifting power of collective sound.
Joshua 2 is a multidisciplinary artist, musician, and shamanic energy healer whose work spans visual art, performance, music, community arts, and teaching. A lifelong creative, his artistic path has included theater, fine art, fashion illustration, blues and gospel-influenced music, and community-based arts projects focused on healing, inclusion, and social connection. A recent visit to his ancestral homeland of Nigeria renewed his commitment to drumming as a powerful practice for building community and shared meaning.
All are welcome—no prior drumming experience required. Drums will be provided, or participants may bring their own. A $10 donation is suggested.
