Cops Wrote 50 Tickets On I-684: Super Bowl Crackdown '20
During the 2019 Super Bowl campaign, state police arrested 139 people for impaired driving and issued 7,891 tickets.
NEW YORK — New York State police and local police departments are running their annual crackdown on distracted and reckless driving over Super Bowl weekend. State troopers ran one organized effort along I-684 on Saturday.
During the detail troopers out of the Somers barracks issued a total of 50 vehicle and traffic tickets which included 17 speeding tickets, 8 Move Over Law, 10 cell phone, 4 seat belt, and 11 other violations.
The statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown started Friday and will end Monday.

The Super Bowl is America’s most watched national sporting event and Super Bowl Weekend is historically a deadly period for impaired driving. During the 2019 Super Bowl campaign, State Police arrested 139 people for impaired driving and issued 7,891 tickets.
