The snowstorm that crippled much of the East Coast will be gone (and good riddance).
The good news is that on Sunday temperatures will be in the mid 30s and skies will be mostly sunny.
The bad news is that everyone has to clean up. And there’s quite a bit to clean up. According to the National Weather Service, Putnam Valley had had 6.3 inches dumped on it by 1 p.m.; Yorktown had had 7.5 inches, and Danbury had 4.0 inches.

NYSEG tips:
Weather storms by preparing ahead of time. Once the power is out, you may not be able to view our safety tips, so download a copy of our reference, Weathering Storm Emergencies (PDF), print it out, and have it handy when storms are on the horizon.
Avoid downed power lines. Even lines that appear dead can be deadly. NYSEG customers should call 1.800.572.1131 to report downed power lines or other hazardous situations. Refrain from removing tree debris as downed power lines may be entangled in them.
