New Rochelle Principal Named Mahopac Schools Chief
The school district is going with a local resident.

MAHOPAC, NY — Anthony DiCarlo, a local resident, has been chosen by the Mahopac Board of Education as the next superintendent of schools. DiCarlo is currently an elementary school principal in New Rochelle.
The choice brings to an end a search process the Mahopac school board in September with the express wish that a choice be made by the beginning of 2018, board President Leslie Mancuso told the community in an open letter.
DiCarlo will be paid $235,000 and has been given a 5-year contract, TapInto Mahopac reported.

He'll replace Dennis W. Creedon, who came to the district in 2015 after a difficult search process, and is leaving at the end of a 3-year contract with no future plans.
DiCarlo leaves New Rochelle in a month.

DiCarlo posted a letter on the Trinity Elementary School website to notify his school community:
It is with a heavy heart that I am informing you that I will be resigning my position as Principal of the Trinity Elementary School in the New Rochelle City School District on February 16, 2018. I will begin my next chapter in education as the Superintendent of the Mahopac Central School District. I have the deepest gratitude and affection for the New Rochelle City School District and the Trinity Community. I have loved spending each day with the students, faculty and families over the past six years.
