Man Flees Connecticut After Knifepoint Robbery, Nabbed In Putnam: Cops
The Philadelphia man followed a victim home from picking up a FedEx package delivery of an Apple watch at their parent's home, cops say.

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — A Pennsylvania man made a run for the border after a terrifying robbery attempt at a Connecticut home, police in New York report.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says that on September 30, around 3:45 p.m., they received a description of a vehicle and suspect that had been involved in a knifepoint robbery in New Milford, Connecticut.
The robbery took place after the suspect followed a victim home after they picked up a FedEx package delivery of an Apple watch at their parent's home. The suspect tried to steal the package at knifepoint, making several attempts to stab the victim, according to police.

Around 5:10 p.m., members of the Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) saw the vehicle heading west on I-84 in the Town of Patterson. With the help of road patrol deputies and the New York State Police, cops stopped the car.
The driver, 28-year-old Dalin Gonzalez-Marte, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was identified by the victim as the person who had robbed them. A knife and stolen property were found in the vehicle.

Gonzalez-Marte was taken to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, where New Milford Police Department officers interviewed him.
A warrant was issued in Connecticut for first degree robbery, second degree larceny and unlawful restraint.
Gonzalez-Marte was arraigned in Putnam County Court as a fugitive from justice and was ordered held without bail pending his extradition to Connecticut.
