Valhalla Man Killed On Taconic Parkway In Kent

KENT, NY — New York State police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash Monday on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Kent.

Robert J. Costabile, 69, of Valhalla, NY, was operating a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle on the northbound side of the Taconic State Parkway near Hortontown Hill Road.

Police said their preliminary conclusion was that Costabile was unable to negotiate a curve, lost control, left the roadway and crashed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition to the state police, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, EMStar, off duty members of Woodstock Rescue and Arlington Fire Department, and the Kent Fire Department responded.
