'Going Nuts 'Til We Find A Cure' Event in Memory of Young Syosset Girl

Syosset is “going nuts” until they find a cure for pediatric brain cancer.
After 8-year-old Giuliana Boudouvas suddenly passed away from a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, her family and friends created “Team Peanut” to help raise funds for pediatric brain tumor research.
Anyone who comes to the second annual Going Nuts ‘Til We Find A Cure fundraiser will be able to support a good cause in Giuliana’s memory.

Event goers can participate in sport activities, enjoy music music and have a chance to win raffle prizes.
Brain and central nervous system tumors are all too common among children. It’s one of the leading causing of cancer-related deaths in people under the age of 20 in the United States, according to Team Peanut.

About 22,535 children have brain and CNS tumors, and 4,620 new cases are expected to be diagnosed in the US in 2015, Team Peanut reports.
All of the ticket sales will go towards Voices Against Brain Cancer, which supports lifesaving research and educational programs on Long Island.
The event will be held on Sunday, May 31 at Sportime Bethpage Multisport, 4105 Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage.
