• 2026 Oyster Fest: Food, music, and family fun at vibrant community event (longislandpress.com) — Syosset residents can catch free shuttle buses from Syosset Rail Station to the massive Oyster Festival in Oyster Bay on October 17–18, featuring food courts, rides, contests, and live music. Organizers expect more than 150,000 visitors and encourage taking the Long Island Rail Road, with extra trains on nearby branches and limited parking near Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park.

• Long Island Arts Alliance to honor Roger Tilles with musical celebration (libn.com) — Syosset will be well represented when Long Island Arts Alliance honors longtime education and arts advocate Roger Tilles with a musical celebration on October 19 in Brookville. Syosset Schools Superintendent Thomas Rogers co-chairs the event, and the Syosset High School Adelettes will perform alongside professional musicians and student artists, with proceeds supporting regional arts programs.
