
SYOSSET, NY – A Long Island Rail Road train struck debris on the tracks in Syosset Sunday night. It happened at the Syosset station around 8 p.m.
First responders rushed to the scene. There's no word yet if anyone on the train or on the ground was injured.

LIRR service on the Port Jefferson Branch is currently suspended between Hicksville and Huntington. Service between Huntington and Port Jefferson is unaffected at this time.
The 6:51PM train from Penn due Huntington at 7:55PM is canceled in Syosset due to the train striking debris on the track.
