Heatwave Returns, Stormy Weather Possible for Days: Tarrytown's Weather

We're in a pattern now of extreme heat and humidity meaning thunderstorms are possible for Sleepy Hollow over the next several days.

Unsettled weather and higher humidity are in the forecast for the lower Hudson Valley for the rest of the work week.

Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said after the showers go through the area Wednesday morning, the humidity will start rising and temperatures will climb into the mid- to upper-80s.

He said the day won't be a wash out, but afternoon thunderstorms are a possibility.

The big change, Potter said, starts Thursday.

"Beginning on Thursday, it looks as if we’re going to be facing some of the ugliest weather of the summer. Temperatures will be hot… but not as hot as what we saw in July," he said. "The big difference, will be the humidity. When it was hot in July, for the most part, we had low humidity levels. This time… on Thursday… we’ll see highs push toward 90 degrees, with very uncomfortable humidity levels."
